1. I am having trouble connecting to my wireless internet at home.
A. Please click this answer to download a PDF with instructions for connecting to your wireless network on your Macbook. Download this while you are in school and connected to the internet.

2. How often should I restart my computer?
A. After 8-10 hours of work, you should completely restart your computer. This will keep it running at peak performance and help eliminate problems. Also we occasionally push out updates that install when you restart. To keep your computer updated, restart at least once a week while connected to the wireless in the High School.

3. A CD/DVD is stuck in my macbook what do I do?
A. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PRY IT OUT. Restart your macbook and continuously press eject and spacebar. If the cd does not eject please come to ihelp.

4. My camera light is on and/or my photo screen is black.
A. Restart your macbook.

5. My F keys aren’t working. And there is a black box around my icons.
A. You have Accessibility options turned on. Press CMD+F5 to turn it off.

6. My USB drive isn’t recognized.
A. Restart your macbook.

7. Safari is giving me an authorization error.
A. Plug into a blue network cable located in the iHelp room and restart your machine.

8. I dropped my macbook and broke it, now what?
A. Please bring your broken laptop to the ihelp room. Your computer will be sent out for repair and you will be given a loaner which you must return at the end of the day. You will be required to pay a $100 deductible before you can take any computer home. Upon receipt of the $100 payment you may take your loaner laptop home but be sure to return to ihelp in a week or so to swap back into your regular laptop.

9. My macbook has been sent out for repair and I have a loaner but have not paid the insurance deductable. If I can not take my loaner home how can I do my homework.
A. Laptops are available for your use while in the library. You may log in to one of those with your regular user name and password.
